Washington D.C. - Day Trip - 2010

I got a new camera this week (in preparation for our trip to Romania) and I wanted to go to DC and try it out. Unfortunately, it was very cold and I couldn’t walk around too much. I snapped a few pictures of the Capitol and then I headed to the American Indian Museum and the Botanic Garden. Here are some of the pictures I took. It was my first time using the camera so the pictures aren’t too good but hopefully I’ll get better soon.

U.S. Capitol

National Museum of the American Indian (Didn't stay...just had a buffalo burger)

The United States Botanic Garden (This is just a small sample of the plants...my choice of subjects and photographic skills don't really do the gardens justice)

A few more shots as I make my way to the metro...damn it's cold.

Home!!!!

I know it's kind of cheating to post pictures of D.C. since I live a 15 minute metro ride away, but it's a beautiful city. In the spring, I will do a proper city tour and post a lot more pictures. I hope you like the pictures I took today. Let me know what you think.

Indeed.
Please post more ...and also please tell us which type of camera you've got.
Thanks.
That's all I have for now. I want to go outside and take more pictures but it's very cold and not at all pleasant to walk around. I may go to Georgetown next weekend and I'll try to take some more pictures.

The camera is a Nikon D90 with a 18-105mm lens which I got about a week ago.

Nice pictures, keep them coming :)
Ok, it's around your city but for us it's more than a trip :D

What will you be visiting in Romania ? I mean, which part of the country ?

http://www.casamea.ro/inspiratie/arta/muzee/castelul-din-busteni-1443

Sinaia: Peles, Manastire, Cazino, Centru, Hotelurile vechi, Cartierul Furnica, Gara-daca te intereseaza trenurile este o expozitie de modelism foarte reusita in Gara Sinaia;
Busteni: Palatul Cantacuzino, o plimbare (scurta, pentru ca e mult trafic) prin centru;

This past weekend I went for a little walk from DuPont Circle to the Georgetown campus and then across the bridge to Arlington. Here are some photos I took. Most of the pictures were taken on P Street and Reservoir. The most of the others were taken on the university campus. Enjoy.
