Plans for a Railway Station at Welborne Garden Village move a step closer after a feasibility study took place last November. In my opinion the most likely site is that of the former Knowle Halt the article says within the Village bouneries on on the Eastleigh - Fareham line

However the 2013 Fareham council plan has the railway line as the western boundary, and the site of the former Knowle Asylum Halt is just a little to the north of the Welborne area shown.

So not a million miles away, but not actually “within” either...

An update on this and the overall garden village scheme. It should be noted that getting the improvement works at J10 of the M27 is essentially the precursor before any of the wider developments including homes and the railway station can be started.

Outline planning permission for the overall garden village was granted in January 2021: Welborne: New plan for 6,000-home 'garden village'

The scheme had been in jeopardy after £25m funding, from the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, towards the M27 junction 10 improvements, expired last year.

Hampshire County Council has now, as of July 2021, taken on responsibility for being the M27 J10 improvements scheme delivery body and are currently anticipating construction could be begin on this in 2023: M27 Junction 10 improvements
