...according to the Demographia international rankings, Melbourne has a “severely” unaffordable housing market, ranking ninth worst out of 88 urban areas in the four former colonies.

Much of this appears to be the result of the urban growth boundary and the attendant fundamentalist policies.


The Median Melbourne house price rose 19%, from $280,000 to $345,000, in the two years before the urban growth boundary was introduced.

The median Melbourne house price has rose only 1 . 9%, from $345,000 to $352,000, in the two years after the urban gwoth boundary was introduced.
