Couple of smaller cranes in the West End, possibly around the St Michael’s Church area? Seen here from the South bank.
Any ideas what they’re for?

Lemington Lidl Supermarket.
Construction has started after long delay.
There were some remains of old workings but would appear to have been bulldozed.
Store may being built to cope with proposed new housing if it materialises on Newburn Riverside.

Newburn Riverside
Sign for potential new housing.
Plans for up to 1000 new homes.
Walking around the site recently it suffers from a lot of flooding from old Lemington gut.Parts are marshy land.

Going to have to be a lot of care taken as to where these houses are going to be situated. Buyer beware.

There is a lot of wildlife which has taken over this enormous piece of land. A stoat bounded across my path last week.
For no real reason took this picture of a local horse with a fine moustache. He'll see some changes in the future.

New houses going up beside the St Pauls Estate, Elswick. Photo taken a few days ago - we know it as the Jubilee Estate because it has regal street names and was finished in 1977 (silver). The depth of topsoil here has been amazing and it has been scooped out and piled up, before it's disposed of. Four or five feet of topsoil must have an explanation but it's lost and it won't remain as topsoil for long. It's been covered with subsoil and reminds me of a long barrow. This end of the site looks perfect for willow trees.

£22m vision unveiled for new leisure centre in Newcastle's outer west after pool closure saga

A “state-of-the-art” leisure centre costing more than £20m could be built in Newcastle’s Outer West, after ambitious new plans to replace a closed swimming pool were unveiled.

Designs have been revealed for a major new facility that would see the shuttered West Denton Pool and its neighbouring sports centre torn down.

The plans are, however, dependent on the government agreeing to cover the vast majority of the costs.
