Which cities would be very similar to your own in certain respects in other areas of the country? Since I'm in the Charlotte metro, I would say that Indianapolis and Columbus from the Midwest would be comparable. Not too sure about the Northeast and West though.

I've always found Baltimore to have a special relationship with Cleveland. We seem to have a lot of give and take in the sports world.

For Metro Areas

Pittsburgh and Cleveland
Buffalo and Milwaukee
Rochester and Syracuse
Erie Pa. and Youngstown Ohio

Each pair has very similar population and economic demographics as well as being of comparable size.

I would compare Indy to Charlotte
For everyone else
NYC<>Chicago
Pittsburgh<>Cincinnati
Dallas<>Atlanta
Boston<>Philadelphia
That's all I can think of

Rochester and Charleston, W.VA
:blahblah: ... just shut up. Rochester and Akron Ohio, Bakersfield, CA, Chattanooga, TN. Those are the ones I think of. Also, although it's not in another area.... but rather only two counties over, Buffalo is very similar.

Seattle-Vancouver-Portland. Triplets of varying style and talents.
P.S.- I know Vancouver is in Canada and may not apply to the original question.

I would say Chicago's peer city can be Toronto, both are quite similar in many ways! :)

Eventhough they are bitter rivals.... it would probably, in all reality.... be Chicago and NYC.
