a few points regarding your poll:

1) i've been to China twice, and had good times there; loved every minute of it. will return to china more if i got the financial resources.

2) i like the pictures you guys posted; BUT, a big BUT, i find the likes of you extremely annoying.

3) i hate your inputting chinese, which i, and most other SSCers here, i believe, don't understand; that is very rude, don't you think?

4) anyone who have been to both India & china are well aware of the fact that china leads INdia by at least 20 years; especiallly the infrastructure; why are you so inconfident by comparing the two countries?

good luck, and post some ORIGINAL pictures and write English that actually make some sense. thanks for your work and keep posting.

Sorry.
if something i have made is incorrect,
But i can't edit the poll words.
if someone can edit ,please help me.
thank u
Why chinese pics is rude?
i think it as pic of China...
remember, it's usually "look at".. or "looking at pictures of China..."

also, the noun is "impression".. What's your "impression"?

"impress" is a verb. China "impresses" me very much.

"The" is a difficult word. If you want to be very very specific, use "the". I went to "the" stadium last night. General, use "a". I went to "a" video store yesterday................or, if you went to the video store next to your house, for example, you can say "I went to the video store". Very general, you can say "Do you like video stores?" meiyou "the"

it's not the poor English that bothers me; English is not my mother tongue, either and thus i should be the last person to be picky about grammars or wording. it's the bombardment of the unoriginal pictures (all beautiful, needless to say).............

i'd like to poll too......see if lots of SSCers share my thoughts :)

you may all have noticed that there are an equivalent number of Hongkong pictures, considering HK is much smaller than mainland china. why are we not annoyed by them? why are we keep responding to HK postings? because most of the HK pictures are orginal, energetic......and live. the posters actually took many of that photos! that established an instant mental connection, bonding between the HK posters & us viewers. any many of them take pains in writing a brief introduction or comments about pictures; and that's a big plus, too.

i have basically quit clicking the china postings; how many are like me?

really?

well, anyway, the sentence is: "but 'impress' can be used as a noun also..."

99.9% of the time, it is a verb. ;) That noun is old and almost never used

how old are you, bigchina? it sounds like a kids thread.
ok
i apologize.
someone can delete the thread ,please delete it....
lol...poor bigchina

hey buddy, relax, nobody is asking you to quit posting on this forum, but you should definitely listen to all the advices in this thread -- especially the ones regarding description --- i, for one, get really irritated by amatuer titles like "let me show show xxxx city in china, it's the best and very nice!" --- not very intuitive, don't you think?

and yeah -- practice your english first..."what's your IMPRESSION after looking AT the pics of chinese cities"

I, for one, love all the resent China pics!

I - like 95% of my fellow SSC'ers - had no idea what to expect, and I'm sure to say that most of us are very pleasantly surprised!

Heck, I've become addicted to these fresh new places instead of the same old same old all the time :D

What one should keep in mind - and what I personly wouldn't mind the people posting the pics started to show more often - is that China also have a poor side and that not everyone live in luxurious highrises, with amazing views, and drive VW's and BMW's

However this breath of fresh air is more than velcome imo - and I would love to see tons of pictures of all the wonderful, and for me atleast, unknown cities... so please keep posting guys!

And then I have a question ( pm me the answer if unsafe or you don't want to answer in public ) Is there any problems or risk involved for Chinese people, living in China, posting pictures of slum or run down areas on forums such as these?

What's the goverment's view on negative publicity?

Come on guys...we all can understand what this guy's trying to say.
Also the SSC Forum isn't the appropriate place for english lessions :)
Anyway ,i find China wonderful and every thread that i see in this forum about China always seems to amaze me!
@ Mr_Denmark Every city in this world has ugly and poor places "they don't want you to see". I don't think it's the government's policy to ban and punish any negative thread.

Well, you keep hearing about how internet cafe's are shut down and online gametime and age is regulated, even how google among others are censored...

And it's pretty clear that the Chinese Goverment, and it's citizens, have a lot if not everything riding on marketing China as the next big thing, so I think it would be pretty natural to state that negative publicity was illegal or ill seen..

Just like speaking against "the party" is...

Anyway, no reason to turn it political, I was simply wondering..

As I said I love the photo threads - so please keep 'em coming!
