I see some skyscrapers popping up around Midtown. Nariman Point area doesn't seem likely to house a supertall any time soon due to the historic context. It'll take quite a while to fill in the gaps and form a big skyline though. Mumbai needs to solve its slum and housing problem first.
I think it will take some time. Most corporate bigwigs already have their own offices in the suburbs and are unlikely to contruct high rises in downtown where they prices are too high.
Only when more international firms like banks, ad agencies etc start coming to mumbai wil such need for highrises arise. The International banks in Mumbai currently dont have big operations to set up their own building.
Also residential highrises wont be all over downtown mumbai due to prices. Only select few very high end expensive high rises will come up which is happening currently.
