Why does this amuse tourists so much?

If anyone's ever been to 3rd Street Promenade or Hollywood Blvd, I'm sure you've seen it. Huge crowds of people watching a group of 2-3 guys dancing to lame dance music. Many times they block nearly the entire sidewalk. I just want to know what is so fascinating about someone doing "the robot" to the latest hit single from Flo-Rida? Maybe I'm totally missing something, so please tell me: Why do these people always draw such a huge crowd?

Doesn't interest me in the least bit either.

Because where these tourists are from, people don't even know how to dance.
it's kinda the domino effect. one person starts watching the entertainer. then another. then people walking by see that people are watching something and they wonder what it is, so they stop to watch. and this process continues until a large crowd has developed.

Its free entertainment who doesnt
I don't even like that when they do it in Cal Adventure! And they've got the speakers going all over the park for this one section and these poor kids are belting their hearts out and you just want to take them down from their portable stage, dry their tears and tell them everything's gonna be alright- when you know it won't :)
Are you talking about those shirtless black guys that won't start unless everyone gives them money? ( and they'll demand it )
They do that in New York as well.
Because it's human nature. They watch in hopes that one of the dancers will screw up and dislocate an akle or something. It's like the reason people slow down to see an accident on the freeway. People want to see dead bodies, guts and blood and when they don't, they're dissapointed.
Haha amazing answer above me.

The human population is one big circus act and based on myths.
