Does anyone know anything about The Wolo??
Not too sure. I think the website is not accessable yet.

H&M will be good for KL.

The enlarged Debenhams will be good for KL too.

KL needs something unique... something like a Hamley's Toys Store or a departmental store like Bloomingdale's or Saks or Target or John Lewis.

By comparison with Singapore, we need more BRANDS and bigger outlets for existing brands... a simple stroll on Orchard and Marina Bay Shoppe will tell you how much we are lacking in. In Singapore, Denizen by Levi's is almost everywhere in the suburban malls.

Very classy indeed.

Yummy... wish they are here too.

(Patchay is studying the retail market of Singapore and Malaysia and it will be useful when he and some friends plan to startup a F&B or franchise. )

While details are still sketchy, it is understood that that it will be a boutique-style hotel located in the Bukit Bintang area.

Kuala Lumpur: A new hotel brand called Wolo will make its debut in the city centre this year. While details are still sketchy, it is understood that that it will be a boutique-style hotel located in the Bukit Bintang area.

It is understood that Wolo Hotels will be headed by a hotelier who previously was in charge of a home-grown hotel that also operates hotels abroad.

The hotel could start operations as early as July, a source said.

The hotel’s website does not reveal much about the property but instead, it has a word search game that offers accommodation and
food & beverage vouchers to the winners.

Meanwhile, the banner on the facade of the building shows a partially open zipper and says “Revealing in 2012”.

The building, located at the junction of Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Sultan Ismail, is the former Wisma KLIH. In 2010, Equine Capital Bhd sold Wisma KLIH for RM58 million to a company called Wonderful Vantage Sdn Bhd.

Wolo Hotels is not the only new hotel that is slated to open in the Bukit Bintang area. The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur development is expected to house a hotel. It had previously announced that Raffles Hotels & Resorts would be the operator there.

In January, InterContinental Hotels Group announced that it would be opening its first Holiday Inn Express in the capital.

The hotel, built by RB Capital’s unit Amsterling Hotels Sdn Bhd, is located near HSBC’s Malaysian headquarters in Bukit Bintang.

Yet another recent development is the proposed refurbishment and upgrading of the Yayasan Selangor Building in Jalan Bukit Bintang to house a boutique hotel.

It is understood that a developer that is already operating a hotel and shopping complex in the Subang/Sunway area will manage
the hotel.
