ACCIONA to build one of the world's longest cable-stayed bridges in Poland for 166 million euro

The contract, from the Polish Roads Authority, must be completed in 30 months and has a budget of 166 million euro. ACCIONA's extensive track record in this type of structure was one of the factors that tipped the balance in its favour.

The Oder bridge will be part of the Wrocław bypass, in western Poland, linking the A-4, the future S-5 to Poznań and the S-8 to Warsaw. The project comprises building a 612-meter cable-stayed bridge over the main channel of the river plus two overpasses, measuring approximately 611 and 521 metres, on each side of the river, making a total length of 1.75 kilometres.

The central pier, located on Rędzińska island in the middle of the river, will be 122 metres tall, the highest structure of its kind in Poland. The bridge will also be the first in Poland to be fitted with sensors to detect damage or deterioration in any of its components.

Beautiful bridge, any info on the completion date???
I edited the title a bit, since it's not really about an F-1 race track. If you got a better idea for a title, send me a PM.

really nice bridge , but far from the "longest"... :)

the two main span is only 256m, the suspended deck is 512m, very far from the word records...

here is the list of cable stayed bridges by span:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_cable-stayed_bridges

and the list of longest decks:

but in the "SINGLE PYLON" category it can reach a nice place...
(I expanded the wiki list with a "number of pylons" coloumn, so it can be sorted by this parameter, bringing single pylon bridges to the top of the list...)

p.s.: the U/C new sava bridge in belgrade is a single pylon type too...

Now why did they have to build the bridge exactly at that nice little island and more or less crush it to death? It probably would have been possible to cross a little up or down the river... oO

If they tried to build it down or up the river they would have to demolish a lot of buildings on the left (southern) bank of the river.
I believe it would be more expensive even if bridge could be shorter.
