Maybe now people will sit up and take notice of the horrendous problems in east Leeds.

Yup, this. As someone who lives in East Leeds, people need to look up and realise that sections of the community in this area are severely under privileged and although this is no reason for something like this to happen, I am confident to say that (in my opinion) that something like this would not have happened had Corpus not being an inner city school in an under privileged area. More needs to be done for East Leeds.
So high schools in Leeds achieve at the national average and kids in east Leeds are well brought by their parents? An incident of this kind is rare, but if it was going to happen anywhere...Incidents like this are exceedingly rare by all accounts. Hardly symptomatic of wider societal issues.

Relative to where? Seacroft?Just checked the kid is from Halton, a relatively posh part of Leeds.
Halton Moor.Relative to where? Seacroft?
So you are blaming the area when he's not even from there?Either way its a tragedy. But think I'm with di Livio on this one.
