Architect: RMJM
Developer: Eton Holdings

Xiamen will soon embrace a brand new landmark building – the Eton Centre.

The new centre is invested and developed by Hong Kong Eton Properties Group. It is located at the intersection of Lujiang Avenue and Xiahe Road, facing Gulangyu Islet across the sea.

The total land area is 21,810 square metres, and the overall built up floor area is about 350,000 square metres, with four main blocks and one shopping mall.

The centre will consist of a super five-star hotel of 60,000 sq metres, serviced apartments of more than 10,000 sq metres, a grade-A office space of nearly 170,000 sq metres, commercial properties of 40,000 sq metres as well as a large underground parking.

With 51 floors in total and 229 metres high, the new buildings in the Eton Centre is the tallest among all existed buildings that are currently under construction in Xiamen.

So far, Hong Kong Eton Group has two completed projects in Xiamen, the Bank Center, a Grade A office building with 56,000 sq metres, and the International Club, a high-status social club which remains the largest private club in the city.

Upon completion, the Eton Centre will become the biggest commercial complex in Xiamen.

is the building located just across the "piano"island? I visited xiamen last December and I notice there is empty tract of land.
Is xiamen planning elevated rail car similiar to Chongqing?
Wow! This is very very impressive, and quite advanced compared to the developments in Eton Properties Philippines. Well, they are based in HK and China after all :)

The building is across the piano island. Actually there is another skyscraper under construction across the road. I should go there and take some pictures.

Local rumor (from a cab driver) is that Xiamen city wanted to build an EL line, but central government did not allow them for not having enough people living on the island (Xiamen's CBD is on an island, just like HK). The elevated track that is already built is now being used as designated bus lane.

Alleged latest design, also by RMJM. 80 and 45 floors (possible supretall). No sources, likely fake.

From RMJM website. Around 80 floors, likely a supertall in case it's the final design.

Xiamen Eton Centre, Xiamen, China

Client
Eton Properties Ltd

Types
Mixed Use

Size
280,000 Sqm

Project description
RMJM made proposals for a landmark tower development on a prominent seafront site in the new central business district in the heart of Xiamen. The design provided 280,000 sq.m. of office, hotel and residential GFA accommodated in three linked towers.

The link between the office and hotel towers forms a 150m high gateway arch at the end of main shopping street and the link between the office and residential tower forms a retail podium to the office tower. The residential tower is rotated on plan to orientate the apartments to the views of the sea and the historic Gulangyu Island.
