A lot of mines have closed down, so yeah it could be
the only mines left these days are the diamond ones
and they are making heaps of $$$$$

Unlike Winnipeg, houses in Yellowknife are extremely expensive

It's hard to believe from these pictures that Yellowknife only has 19 000 people in the city and NOT a ghost town.

I lol'd pretty hard at the Walmart and the Superstore pics. That was funny - with the big parking lots and the whipping snow.
That McDonalds looks like it's covered in some type of insulation...
It is still under construction. It will be finished with some sort of cladding.
Wow good pics. Yellowknife has a pretty good skyline for a town with a population of only 18,700.
