Your City's Favorite Square or Plaza

Please post pictures of no more than 2 sqaures/plazas.
Please post a maximum of 2 pictures for each sqaure/plaza.

What I would like to see here, is a collection of photo's of everyone's favorite urban open spaces (square/plaza) and perhaps one or two photo's of the most famous one of your town/city.
To give you an example > when I would be living in NYC, my post would look like this:

Probably the best known > Times Square:

Time Square NYC by night (and by Wen ;-) by Wen-Chi Su, photographer, on Flickr

My favorite > Columbus circle:

If you're favorite one is also the most known one, you may also post 3 photo's of this square/plaza!

the ones in Amsterdam and Catania are my faves.

I'll come back with some of my own to see if you guys dig'em
Piazza Ducale in Vigevano

If I lived in Vigevano this would be my local for breakfast, lunch, dinner and perhaps after dinner.
One of the best achieved piazzas in Italy, often reported as a work by Leonardo da Vinci, who "only" deemed the square worth to be sketched in a sheet of his infact. Layout by Donato Bramante (1492).

I have two favourite squares in Bratislava:

the first is Liberty square, which I like because of his monumental look. Liberty square is the center of Bratislava government district, but is also sadly famous as place for alcoholic parties of youngsters :eek:hno:

the second one is Hviezdoslav square, beautiful boulevard in the historical part of city with many trees, bar, cafes, restaurants :) In summer there is a very lovely atmosphere

Toronto's two most famous ones are Nathan Phillips Square which contains our new and old city hall and Yonge/Dundas Square which is more of an entertainment complex.

Apology to the Indigenous people.

Federation Square is great, never forget the atmosphere there when they showed to World Cup on the big screen. Great nights in the city.
