What are everyones favourite hotels and why?
La Sirenetta Park, Stromoli, Italy - I normally don't go in for beach resorts but this was a great classy unstated little place right on the beach that unlike most nice hotels in the area you can get fairly cheap out of season.
Das Cataratas, Igassu Falls, Brazil - Not exactly cheap but I loved the aged colonial feel and more important its right infront of the falls with means you can take a walk first thing in the morning with only wildlife rather than fellow tourists for company.
New Elgin, Darjeeling, India - Besides the one of the best views in the world of Kangchenjunga the best thing about Darjeeling is IMHO the old hotels, some raj style overservice makes me feel a little uncomfortible but this places kept it just right.
Estancia La Quinta, El Chalten, Argentina - Theres alot of faux "rustic" places in Patagonia but this was the real thing. Eating the best steak I'v ever tasted in one of the original farmhouses a few mins from maybe the most picturesque walking area I'v ever visited without it costing the earth(until the Torres Del Paine area) is not soon forgotten.
