Zamosc, often called the pearl of the Renaissance, is a rare example of a city designed in its entirety and raised over a short period of time. The urban layout of the oldest part of the city is a top class monument of significant historical and artistic value, therefore it was included on the list of the World's Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1992.

Zamosc was founded by Jan Zamojski - polish chancellor and hetman (head of an polish army). The city belonged to him.

Definitelly worth a visit. One of the most beautiful Old Towns in Poland. It seems forgotten, but last summer I saw a lot of foreign tourist buses over there.

^ I fell in love with that town hall when we had the Best In East Europe competition.

The staircase just makes my eyes close with pleasure.
