I thought that the world was going to wait for him to die before this crazed dictator lost control of Zimbabwe. Hopefully this means it will happen imminently

Mr Mugabe has been best known for his ridiculous quotes (many to do with his intense racist hatred of white people, who he approves of being murdered) and for sending his country down the toilet :eek:hno:

The unbelievable thing in that part of the world is that these places are actually democracies, but the population is actually that stupid that they continue to re-elect these abysmal leaders. South Africa is another one with an appalling government that keeps getting back in with a strong margin. Perhaps there should be an IQ test prior to voting in these places?

He's a man who has helped to complete a truly astonishing transformation of Zimbabwe. An economic pioneer.
Mugabe must be a good leader. After all, he made everyone a trillionaire over night.

You'd probably vote for Robert Mugabe if there was someone with a big stick behind you. Or maybe you wouldn't, but your vote for the other guy would probably be thrown in the bin.

SA is a different story. The ruling ANC is in massive decline under the current leadership.

Agreed but shame it happened before the switch to using US dollars as currency
It would seem the old revolutionary boys didn't take to kindly to the idea of the divisive young Mrs 'Gucci Grace’ Mugabe taking control of Zimbabwe.
I was in Zim only a few months ago. The economy is rooted. We only stayed a night in Victoria Falls and we didn't bring cash with us. Big mistake. The ATMs are empty as they all use USD and they're obviously in short supply of that and I assume the only way that comes in is via tourists or locals bringing it with them from across the border. We could only get a cash advance of $10 from the local supermarket. So we had to pay with credit card for everything. Not normally such a big deal but unfortunately we didn't get to see the falls from that side (the best side) as is requires payment in cash.
People were trying to sell million dollar notes (Zim dollars) as souvenirs. Pretty sad state of affairs. I hope things improve for them.

Did you ever get to do the Harare flight when you were at EK? Any thoughts on the place?

Zim is supposed to be in theory.

ZA definitely is one, it's just full of stupid people.

Nah avoided it like the plague. No one wanted to do it.
it's not a true democracy when you have hundreds of thousands of invalid voters, state bias, rife corruption in the electoral commission and large majorities of the oppositions strong hold excluded from the electoral roll. If there were a true unbiased election, then you wouldn't see the same results.

Hahahaha. Apparently QF crews are like that with Joburg flights.

What was the shittiest layover of all out of curiosity? I'm imagining some other city in Africa where it's too dangerous to do anything but mooch around the hotel.
he's been deposed... like, 20 minutes ago...
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
