A SEZ set up a noble idea with tax free incentives etc it has received a partly $500 million in investment almost 10 years the last major project being the 80 million ppc project last year due to bad investment climate/country perception risk etc. Govt is the govt is reworking this SEZ to make it more attractive.



Sunway City (Pvt) Ltd is a subsidiary of the Industrial Development Corporation of Zimbabwe Limited (IDCZ) mandated to develop world class integrated residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and recreational parks so as to provide relevant infrastructural development to facilitate industrialization and economic growth of Zimbabwe as well as regional integration and trade. Currently, the company is in the process of developing its 1592 Hectare land bank in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The company has however been accorded special economic zone status with respect to the High Tech Park and it is anticipated that the company will be the conduit Government will use to develop more special economic zones in the country.

The development of the Sunway City Integrated Park envisages the creation of modern all -inclusive business, commercial, industrial, residential and entertainment complexes designed, built and managed to world class standards incorporating the use of cutting edge technologies and management systems. In its strategic framework, Sunway City envisages undertaking projects involving the development of basic infrastructure encompassing roads, storm water management systems, transport systems, cargo terminals, telecommunication infrastructure, water and sewerage reticulation as well as rail networks. In addition Sunway City intends to develop factory shells, specialized factory units, office complexes, shopping malls, distribution centers and entertainment parks.

High Tech Park

Sitting on 76 hectares, the High Tech Park acts as a magnet for Information Technology and Knowledge based industries. The core anchors of the High Tech Park will be large multinational corporations such as Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, Microsoft, ZTE, etc. It will also house local telecommunications companies, incubator facilities for small to medium-sized startups in innovation and technology as well as research and development institutions.

Oil Cluster

An oil cluster has been established around the National Oil Infrastructure Company of Zimbabwe’s Above Ground tanks for oil companies to set up depots and fuel related operations .This is the location where the Beira corridor terminates and there are future plans to extend the fuel pipeline to regional countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo, making the location a regional fuel distribution hub.

Trade Kings Limited has completed the construction and installation of a Boom detergent powder and paste plants under phase one of its five-year $50 million investment in Zimbabwe.Trade Kings is the largest FMCG in Zambia and one of the major manufacturers in the region. The company produces detergents (liquid, paste and powders), soaps, sweets, lollipops, confectionery and soya nuggets.

Astro To Set $30million Dollar Plant In Zimbabwe





Astro Mobile Africa has announced that it will be setting up a $30 million manufacturing factory in Zimbabwe, the mobile company is set to hold a ground breaking ceremony for its manufacturing plant this Friday 20, July amid indications that the plant will create thousands of jobs locally.

ICT postal and Courier services Minister, Hon Supa Mandiwanzira will be the guest of honor to unveil the new assembling site.

The manufacturing factory set to be located in Sunway city is set to be operational within the next ten months which will see them manufacturing mobile phones, LED television and other electronic devices.

Speaking to TechnoMag recently, Munyaradzi Gwatidzo, Astro’s founder said the plant was being constructed in three phases so as to ensure its durability and reliability.
