I'd love to go EKKA some day. Nice shots.

What's the new ferris wheel this year?

This is the first year in a while I haven't gone, just couldn't justify the cost.
A day at any show is expensive these days, and I'd agree that you are not getting the value for your dollar. Also that same Ferris Wheel was the Royal Easter Show in Sydney earlier this year. It's 45m tall.

$22 just to get into the Ekka this year, numbers are down, which the organisers are blaming on the media flu scrare, but I think price could also be coming into it.

That new wheel looks very similiar to the one on at Seaworld on the Gold Coast, but the Seaworld one is still there so as Fabian said above I guess it is a mobile one that visits each show.

crowds are unfortunately down 30% this year. thats a huge reduction in ppl. peoples day attracted only 60,000 rather than the normal 80,000+. bloody flu scare!!! i reckon you could also attribute the cost these days of going but as they said, it costs you more than double to go to the gold coast theme parks so.........?

$22. Thats a few dollars cheaper than the Easter Show. Does it include public transport?

Do they have any days where they provide the unlimited rides passes e.g. Tuesday evenings?

And some photos of the Sky View ferris wheel in Sydney

I also noticed that the Moove Ferris Wheel is also there which also makes appearances at the Royal Easter Show. I remember when it was sponsored by channel ten and they gave away $500 to a random person who rode the wheel each day

And then I see other rides too that also make their way from show to show.

Does the EKKA also have produce displays like the Royal Easter Show from each region of the state?

The show - where the city meets the country. I remember going up to the Melbourne show with the folks and getting free stuff because we were farmers, damn straight too!

Gold coast theme parks you only pay entry then rides are free.
yeah but you pay $50 to get in.

also fabian, the fare covers public transport as you can buy your ticket from a train station. you only get free bus travel on the dedicated shuttles because obviously you have no ticket to prove youre actually going to the ekka.
