moderator sinjin, siguro yung technology na ginamit nyo in detecting the computer in use, na feature yan sa movie ng BOURNE ULTIMATUM no! especially yung part na na-detect ng mga CIA uppers yung laptop na ginamit ni "nicki parsons", isang long-time character ng bourne movie trilogy!:)
I don't watch that movie. OT :)

as far as I've read in news articles, the expansion in Rob Bacolod will only be 3,000 sq.m. ... If you don't have figures that suggest otherwise, then you better be more careful with what you're (including other forumers, tani mamati man kamo) posting next time. This is a friendly advise lang don't take it personally kay daw katayog lang guid kis-a and it's quite disheartening to read about. Pls. take these posts seriously, indi lang bala mag pawala bala haw kay ka obvious man kung ga tinikal, pls. be more realistic lang guid! Thank you...
Very well said, chy. We should not be disheartened with a 3,000 sq.m. expansion. Any expansion, whatever its size may be, is already a good sign. Even here in Cebu, the first phase of Ayala Center's expansion was only 7,000 sq.m. and I ranted about it since I thought it was too small but now that the annex is already opened, I was shocked since it was quite huge at 4 levels. :)

Construction of bigger, modern jail in Negros in the offing

THE provincial government may finally push through with its plan to construct a new provincial jail following negotiations with the Dept. of Interior and Local Government to take over jail management upon the completion of the project.

Gov. Joseph Maranon said that they are already negotiating with DILG Usec. Oscar Panadero for the national government's assurance of managing the jail once constructed.

"If this will push through, this will eventually mean a P15 million yearly savings for the province," Maranon said, adding that even if constructing the jail would entail about P50-60 million, "it will still benefit the province in about four years time."

The new jail will be constructed in Abuanan, Bago City on a lot that was earlier purchased by the provincial government for that purpose.

Construction of the jail has been put on hold pending negotiations as to who would eventually manage the facility.

Maranon said they will pursue their plans of converting the old provincial jail site into a business area.

So far, the area has been cleared of squatting families and the only remaining "obstacle" is National Food Authority building.

^^ I smell something in this news. After clearing the chunk of land at the back of Provincial Capitol, now the comes the relocation of Provincial Jail. This seems to be a huge project in the making.Could this be the Bigger Convention Center ?

hey meg,
finally I meet with councilor baiz, we talked about the development of negros. next year 2nd quarter new bacolod gov. center will open. the gonzaga family already draw a plan besides the goverment center or surrounding areas kindly check if theres already a construction. this is another ala araneta center. gonzaga will develop a new concepts of mall. after the goverment center the next big project is the diversion road. from bago city will connect to barrio feliza of Bacolod to the kansilayan road of Murcia. this will pass between mansilingan and paglaum village to Talisay city and connected to silay airport. this will coast more than a billion of pesos. so far bacolod city never owed any money debt free. la planta hotel is a big project he said most modern hotel in bacolod. new silay airport, korean already negotiated to start direct flight from soul korea. 2 areas high rise building will be soon rise near at the new gov. center and not much in bacolod proper and going to silay city. he said in terms of economy bacolod so far host 6 IT companys and more to follow. bacolod is more faster than other cities here in the philippines. business conference choose bacolod because of ideal friendly for business and cheap electricity. all businessman will hold there conference in septermber. to look for a new business venture in bacolod. sm city will draw plan for convention center. so far meg amo ini ang gin panghambal nya.
very intersting words from one of our abroad ilonggo forumer (from through PM). i decided to post it this in a public so that more people will be amaze and to contribute their knowledge and opinsions.

this is also my expectations the highrise buildings or new CBD's districts will be pour to the areas of Lacson street extensions in brgy mandalagan, bacolod going to silay city and to the East commercial complex. wow another mall. sunod-sunod na yata ito. i heard Araneta center has a longing plan to put up their a shopping center in bacolod. i dunno if when. di bali at this time we have an enough malls. maybe councilor baiz can't talk with him about to the old airport coz of some rumors...haay naku when will be the endless of political warriors about to this 2 airports...from the south, araneta street is a better for lining up the highrise buildings similar to north of lacson street extention and to the east of Burgos extension and circumferential roads. as the sender of this PM not only both areas of Lacson street & east complex will become a wall street of highrise buildings but also to the reclaimation area especially at the back of the provincial capitol...cheers

^^ might be a five star prison with world class amenities like a spa, a gym, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi , beach front with sports facilities like a 45 acre golf course, a tennis and basketball court, a football field and a polo field....

there would also be a casino , seven restaurants .. serving italian, thai and chinese cuisine, a night club a 24 hour cafe....

plus great accomodations, plush bedrooms with balconies overlooking the beach,, an ensuit bathroom and walk in closet plus a dipping pool with an option for hot and cold water...

the mall also has an attached shopping center, with five cinemas and a theatre,.. featuring broadway plays and phiharmonic orchestras from europe....

^^not only to the city center areas will become develop into a commercial and nightlife haven, etc..but also to the brgys areas. madayon gid man gali siguro ang dako nga hospital projects ni palanca sa reclaimation area. is his idea of putting up a lying-in maternity clinic and a modern diagnostic center. for sammy, the reclamation area is the cornerstone of catapulting Bacolod into a modern urban industrial and commercial complex and the bulk of his goal had already been accomplished. what do you think Bacolod would have been now sans the reclamation of BREDCO? his another big projects are the expansion of the Pavillion Hotel & Convention Center and the Horizon Twin Towers that are on progress...cheers...

nice latest pictutes @ NEOMIND

^^ wow good for BREDCO port.... maybe in the near future, ung reclamation area sa bacolod will become a nightlife haven... ung SM city Fiesta Strip is just a sign..... SUEÑO, FIGARO, RAIRAIKEN, MCDONALDS, CHICKEN DELI, MANG INASAL, BIGBY'S, SHAKEYS, KFC, BOBS, JOLLIBEE, PIZZA HUT, MANG INASAL, RED RIBBON which are all located @ the Fiesta Strip of SM CITY BACOLOD.... galing.... asenso!

I wonder when would they make the BREDCO port as an International Seaport?...hehe...
Bredco has already hosted to some international shipping lines,I saw flags from the big ships like Thailand and am not sure the shipping lines which carries the Mascuvado that we are exporting that are bound for somewhere in Europe.

good day to everyone

I get to have the chance to read all your post in this thread and im quite irritated by behaviours of others in the forum. Ive been a forum moderator way back so i guess i need to break the silence now. be fair at all time just like the other forumers. and do not make a competition in the forum. A forum is made so that we can tackle things that need to be improved. I can see the regionalism attitude present in maybe almost every filipino in the world. Ang, taga bacolod ko ya - taga iloilo kamo, sila taga manila kag ang iban ya sa cebu na sila halin, which is quite irritating because of the fact that we are all filipinos and part of the human race. we are all equal. bisan taga iloilo na sila or taga bacolod kita, their progress would be our progress and our progress will also be theirs and the entire country. di bale na if mas malaki ang rob nila kesa sa bacolod. just stick to the reality that in fact its true. Ive been to rob iloilo for so many times and its true, mas malaki ang rob nila. but also credit the fact that Rob iloilo has Four floors and they have an annex building for a carpark and 2-3 storeys yun. That is inevitable. its is vital in its construction kasi limited ang land area ng robinsons in iloilo. in bacolod, although mas maliit, around 55k sq m.floor area and 15 Has. total land area (pati na sa likod ka rob nga wala pa ma develop), pero take for consideration, we had it since 1997 pa so meaning they did not anticipate the successful turn-out as compared to their anticipation towards the robinsons iloilo. In comparison to bacolod and iloilo, bacolod has a small margin of the middle class family while Iloilo has a high margin of the middle class families which fyi, middle class families contributes to the higest consumer turnouts being vital to the economy of the city. kung ang city damo middle class, it means damo consumers, damo work. while kung gamay ang middle class margins gamay consumers and diutay ubra. in bacolod high class margins is 15% middle class is 35% and mga pigado 50% ehile in iloilo high class 22% Middle class 45% and pigado 30-33% so kung i compare mo sa statistics, mas damo consumers ang iloilo. during this time, iloilo has a total of over 300k population compared to bacolods 350K. but another thing is, 4 Iloilo cities can fit inside one bacolod city and still halog pa. So mas damo gyapon tawo sa iloilo not basing on numbers, basing on person per square kilometers nalang. i think sa bacolod mga 50 - 70 per square kilometer anad sa iloilo ya 200 - 280 per square kilometer. wala pa ni labot ang mga tupad banwa ka iloilo like leganes, sta barbara, etc. etc. nga kun sa bacolod daw nagkadto ka lang from downtown to sum-ag lang asta. So damo guid to sila ya tawo... so ang expectatios should also be higher thats why ang rob iloilo kag SM City nila Huge man.... back to topic -->> and iloilo started the mall mania only in 1999. Gaisano City Iloilo around 1998 and SM City around 1999. im starting to sound regionalistic here but im not, i just wanted to clear things up so that matapos na ang ila diskusyunanay about the rob thing. I think, robinsons bacolod is the 2nd robinsons mall outside MM after cebu, but cebu's Rob is quite smaller and not fit to be called a mall, its just like a department store etc., Factually, Rob bacolod is the Suicidal Decision of the RLC way back in 1995-1996 because, they are going to construct a mall, gigantic in size in a very modular city scale with a population of merely 350,000 and in a lowbeat economy. But they proved themselves wrong, because when RPB opened in July 1997, the turnout is very well and the reaction of the consumers is quite high. 100% occupancy rate from 1997-2007. The Fact that SM City Bacolod have already set afoot in The City of Smiles way back in 1992 when they bought the 18 hectare property on the reclamation area. The Original plan was to build an SM Department store like the one in Delgado and eventually Upsize it to a megamall type. But political turmoils in the city led the Sy's hesitant on their plan to construct an SM in bacolod which apparently in 2005, they were convinced by the Leonardia Administration to reconsider their original plans to put up a mall in bacolod. Originally, the reclaimed area where the Sy's had bought is planned for a recreational strip because supposedly, the Original SM mall draft will be erected somewhere in the East side of the city proper. But due to some reasons, they were not able to negotiate with the owner of the land for the 22 has it has offered them. If that negotiation has been successful, The Mall of Asia in Bacolod would probably be a little smaller than the original Mall of Asia in Manila, meaning, a huge gigantic SM City Bacolod. But because of the unprecedented things, the new SM City draft was relocated to the reclamation area, which is still inadequate to meet the standards to build a megastructure in a reclaimed area. The Original New SM City should be a 5-Storey 155,000 sq. K in area, half of that in SM Mall of asia and Probably the Biggest outside of MM. But because of sub-standard site, they revised the plan into a single level complex draft which although small in size but aesthetic in value. MOA in Bacolod is probably the Third in Complexity of Design and Aesthetics after MOA and SM City Baguio. Other SM Malls just looks like a box of Building filled with stores in it. Presently, SM City Bacolod occupied a total of 4Has of land including the Parking Space. The SM owned Bacolod City International Convention Center (BICC) will be located at the North Side of the Property, the one where the Junkshop is located somewhere in Mambuloc Area. The SM owned mix-use project will begun construction late next year or early 2009. The barges at the back of the SM City Property leading to Bacolod Bay will be stripped off and will be converted into a baywalk while the access roads will be interconected to Talisay and Silay in the North and Bago and Pulupandan in the South to complete the Proposed Coastal Road. The Mix-Use property will include 2-Storey-Building C and Building D of SM City Bacolod with Terraces and three Interconnection Bridges which will connect building A with Building C; Building B with Building D and Building C with Building D. On the South Side of the 18 Has. Property will rise the multi-level condominium units and Offices and the New SM IT Park to be leased by BPO companies worldwide. Meanwhile, after the new government center will be fully operational, another gigantic project will be in the Offing. This will be the conversion of the Old Sugar Central or the BMMC Compound (Approxilately 80 - 100Has) into the Araneta Center Visayas. They plan to construct a cubao like district in bacolod. Planning to build the Araneta Coliseum Visayas and its either Gateway Mall or another new mall. They also plans to replicate the success of the cubao area in a more distinct way, wider access roads, Underground Pass and a park. This has been years in the making. no wonder, the government center was relocated there because the New Bacolod Business District will be located on the East Side of the City. The Circumferential Road is on its way of becoming and 8-laner National Road and constuction is on its way. The Gonzagas are also planning of converting up their land beside the New Government Center into a Mix-Use Property. Lopue's East Center is now eyeing for an expansion and a Multi-Level Carpark. The Gaisano Chain is also planning of putting up its third department store in the Offing on the property at the back of Caltex starmart. While Ayala Property is still struggling to acquire a 30 Ha. Land fron the Aranetas (owner of the BMMC). On the lighter side, Gerry's grill had entered bacolod and in the next few months, we might be shocked in the entry of Starbucks and Seattles best. I just hope they wouldnt have the same fate as Coffee Beanery (sala man to b ang location sang coffee beanery thats why naputo sila.) I also heard that Seven-11 will open up its first branch here in WV along Lacson St., I dont know where but hopefully. I really love 7-11. pang-masa guid ya. BTW, the farmers market (of the araneta group) might be on his way to reality after long debate, this could be the signal of the araneta center... and an access road from sharina heights going to burgos st., via araneta compound is long due its proposal. I hope the city government should act on this. Another thing, I do want to retain Bacolod City Airport, but if retaining it could mean the hindrance from constructing high rise buildings in our city, then we should consider selling it or make the old bacolod city airport an Economic Zone.
