I don't know if we need a new thread for this.

That would be awesome. if they put in cobble stone, even better. But they gotta do something with the river by Ras Makonnen bridge. Last time I was in Addis, I walked from city hall to Arat kilo and as I was skipping happily, I was struck by the most disgusting stench I've ever smelled. I literally almost threw up. I hope Abiy's river side revitalization is implemented swiftly. I can't understand how people live in that kind of environment and be healthy. Boy, was that a let down... Same thing on Bole Road too. A lot of Anti Abiy people are mocking him about the river but I bet it will save so many people from asthma and other respiratory and water borne diseases.

Makes you question WTF the past mayors were doing

we need more town squares and town centers. Great idea, maybe a few outdoor cafes, water fountain and such..

You know I am going to be against this project :)

Enough with grand scale stuff for now for many reasons including there is money crunch in the economy. Addis is full of unfished projects and finished ones without occupants especially with store floors. Fix the stupid water access and the light rail issue (which shows up maybe once an hour). People are going crazy saying they can't eat or drink parks and developments. Plus there are probably historical buildings worth keeping around this area and some debate is needed before wiping out a whole neighborhood.

Lol remember the pm has countless times said he is building tomorrows Ethiopia for the next generation. So I don’t think he cares pushing Addis residents to the outskirts or into high rise condominiums. He can’t wait to be the Emir of Addis Ababa ….

Friend, the city as we used to know it is gone for better or worse ….

Somebody has to be a voice of sanity in theses threads and get under the skin of some demolishing derby model of development types :)

Unless people stay at fancy hotels when in Addis - power outage, water access and daily taxi line struggle is no joke. Only the elites get mesmerized by these buildings and fountains.
