Motorists in Metro Manila can expect additional expressway access as NLEX Corporation officially starts construction of the NLEX-C5 Northlink Section 1A project. The entire NLEX-C5 Northlink project extends 11.3 kilometers from Mindanao Avenue to C5/C.P. Garcia, close to Katipunan Avenue.

MPTC President and CEO Jose Ma. Lim, and NLEX OIC and Chief Finance Officer Maria Theresa Wells, Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte together with partner government agencies DOTr-TRB, DPWH, and DHSUD-NHA led the groundbreaking ceremony for the initial two kilometers of the NLEX-C5 Northlink project.

This segment will extend NLEX from the Mindanao Toll Plaza to Quirino Highway through an all-weather elevated expressway that will be accessible to all types of vehicles 24/7, offering a seamless route for motorists heading to and from Novaliches in Quezon City.

We aim to finish this 2km road in 12 months. During construction, we will work closely with all stakeholders to minimize disruptions. Rest assured that MPTC and NLEX are committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and sustainability,” said Lim.

Hanggang Congressional Avenue Extension na lang. I'm hoping that MNTC will construct 2 additional entry and exit points at Sampaguita Avenue in Mapayapa Village and at Quirino Highway.

Based on the map, most of the alignment of segment 8.2 lies on a long stretch of Informal Settlers, so relocating them is still the best option IMO.
