There was the Nottingham Suburban rail system too, which had the stations in Sneinton, and St. Anns amongst other place I think. Plus Nottinghamk did have one underground station, but I can't remember which line it was for.

Yeh that's right.
Im pretty sure there is a tunnel somewhere near Mapperly/Arnold aswell.
From the south went down the Greenline over Devonshire Road bridge along a bank near the Coop near Central Avenue (there are still some arches there but there barred up).
There used to be a railway bridgethat crossed the Trent aswell near Wilford but this was demolished(along with the rest of the line) when The Meadows was built.

There's a pretty interesting webstite with loads of info on it about the lines etc.

True, every major city had several stations and vast goods and passenger lines. It all went the moment we decided to copy the American model of vast motorways (which works fine in a large country with vast distances between cities) instead of looking towards places like Japan, Europe which have vast railnetworks to use in densely populated areas *sigh* I do feel Nottingham seems to have more railway destroyed than most large cities though. Just look at the lack of connections. Sorry to be a bit off topic er...shame the tunnel wasnt incorporated into the CCAN.
