Looks fairly decent. The current space is completely unused. It's a shame they're building over the forecourt to the Wood Lane side, though inevitable I suppose.

I just wish LBHF had a 106 pot that these developments were contributing to to 'slab over' the West Cross route like they did with the Central line. Tongue in cheek of course, but it would be nice to see a proper pedestrian route between White City and North Kensington ('proper' in this context being something which makes the areas feel cohesive and part of the same conurbation, rather some pedestrian link you might see at a provincial train station).

Any decent east-west axis was nerfed when they built the Westfield extension which sits over road. It's a shame really as I feel an extension at this scale was unnecessary. Westfield is now oversized with a number of large empty units in the original section.

Had they built a smaller extension on the south side of the road they could have built something here that properly addressed the street and created an attractive route to North Kensington. The north part currently occupied by John Lewis could have been a mixed use development also fronting the street.

As built there is an east-west route of sorts but that involves you either navigating around the circumference of John Lewis or negotiating different levels through Westfield. The bridge over the West Cross route and the other side also leave a lot to be desired. Poor planning really.

Just got off the phone, just now, with a H&F Team leader from strategic planning applications.

He said that this outline planning application has indeed come a long way with delays, design revisions etc and that it's now in its last stages of awaiting approval from the London Mayor. 👍

Stage of referral process has been done.

Planning permission (Outline permission) has been granted to Westfield (Unibail-Rodamco) about a month ago :)

All that's remaining is for Westfield to submit a Reserved Matters for the detailed design and then they're good to go. Then they can start construction. :)

Would this be for the reserved matters or the masterplan, as you need reserved matters consent to build out btw.
Good question. I just got off the phone...

There is no reserved matters as yet as Westfield have since come back to H&F and wish to discuss potential changes. It was mentioned that Westfield might have to submit a whole new application if the changes are stark, which time wise, would be dreadful.
