If I'm not mistaken, the crane comes down this weekend. I always thought the construction elevators came down before the crane though.
The construction elevators can come down before or after the crane. It's easier/faster (and arguably safer?) to take the elevators down by using the crane but the mast sections are usually about 4 feet tall and can be unbolted and stowed on the roof the cabs for the ride down to the street along with the tie-ins to the building. So often the construction elevators (hoists) need to remain longer than desired due to the permanent elevators not being signed off for construction use (let along permanent use).

I believe this was done on the 1521 Second project, but that's the only project I can recall where the construction elevator came down before the crane did.

Yay! I have been waiting for that. I think it is looking great. Of course, its will look much better within 10-15 years from now when its become taller.
