Finishes weathering well there I see :bash:
Well said. haha

Having worked 3 floors above Friska for the last three years on Queens Road I can wholeheartedly say that it is one of the best cafe/street food restaurants to emerge in recent years! I'm completely in love with their chicken and chorizo hot wrap. It's not cheap at £5 but it seems heathy and filling and reminds me of the fantastic street market pop up stalls. If another business is to survive at Harbourside (i saw a piece in The Post on Zen the Chinese restaurant, which is the only surviving original business from when Harbourside launched in 2008/9) I hope they can do it. The draw of 900 staff at Hargreaves Landsown and other business located on Anchor Road will hopefully pay off for them. I wish them all the best.

Friska does seem to be a nice Bristol success story.

I used to work down the road from their cafe in Victoria street and used to eat there quite a lot.

They've also got a branch at the Bath Road TV studios and at the Science Park in North Bristol - so they're definitely picking their sites pretty carefully and going for a certain type of customer.

There's also a new cafe/lunch thing down by the inlet called Brigstow Lounge, which I can highly recommend as well - good tea and coffee, nice food and very decent wifi. Can't wait for summer, I'm sure the outdoor seating will make the whole area come to life a bit more.

There is talk it could start expanding on national basis, which is great.

A few photos from this afternoon.

I noticed two of the units at the inlet were being fitted out. One was a cafe bar, the other the "Spoke & Stringer" clothing boutique (and a separate bar, strangely - it also seems to have a Harley Davidson in the middle of it!).

The work on resurfacing Gasworks Lane continues. They are recutting and relaying the setts to give a flusher finish:

Thanks for the photos of Wapping Wharf. It`d be great to see some taken closer.

I could never decide whether I liked the Cannon`s Marsh apartments or not. I`m surprised they didn`t aim to go higher in storeys but then Crest or the planners must have had their reasons.

However, I did have some nice afternoons in the bars and restaurants of Harbourside and met some really nice people. It will be good to see how things have changed when I get chance to revisit Bristol.

^^ Is there really that little happening around here nowadays that there haven`t been any posts since mine six weeks ago?

How`s Wapping Wharf coming along? Have they started selling plots from plan yet?

Wapping Wharf phase 1 seems to be coming along nicely, and phase 2 (pdf-1 pdf-2) is hopefully not far away. The marketing and sales suite is open. I'm sure they've sold plots from plan, since there was a story in the paper the other day about how someone ran into some problems with their mortgage arrangements owing to delays.

At the corner of Anchor Rd / Canons Way they're finishing off the last new build of the harbourside redevelopment - was supposed to be offices originally, but is going to be another residential block now.

That leaves the Former Gas Works next to Capricorn Quay as the one site left to be developed. Does anyone know what's up with that? Last planning application is from 2011, and nothing has happened since. It's a shame, since it sports another old stone building which would be nice to see put back into use.

I believe the Soil Association are now looking for a residential partner for a revised scheme.

Nice to see the General Hospital development progressing. I had been wondering what's going on with that since not much seems to have happened in the last twelve months if you look at it from Commercial Rd.

Retail lettings to Spoke & Stringer reinforce Harbourside as Bristol’s leisure quarter from http://www.commercialnewsmedia.com/archives/37023

Over half of the waterfront retail units off Lime Kiln Road on Bristol’s Harbourside have been let for the first time since they were developed in 2014, a sign of returning confidence in the city’s retail sector.

One unit in the Boat House and three in Purifier House have been let collectively to local entrepreneur Kristian Crews, the man behind the new Spoke & Stringer café/bar and shop, a new brand that promotes ‘ride’ culture and active lifestyles. The lettings cement the area’s growing reputation as the city’s sport and leisure quarter.

Over 900 sq ft of ground floor retail space in the Boat House has now opened as a Spoke & Stringer shop, specialising in aspects of city cycling, motorcycle customisation, creative surfboard design, clothing and related accessories.

The three ground floor kiosk units totalling 955 sq ft in Purifier House, a Grade 2 Listed former gasworks adjacent to the Boat House, are now trading as a café/restaurant serving food and drink that complement the Spoke & Stringer active lifestyle.

Catherine Collis, associate in Alder King’s retail agency team, who secured the lettings to Spoke & Stringer on behalf of Linden Homes, said: “The Harbourside has developed into Bristol’s leisure quarter, with large numbers of residents, employees and visitors participating in cycling, running and a variety of watersports. The lettings of these units to Spoke & Stringer follow previous lettings to the Triathlon Store and Pure Gym last year and reinforce Harbourside’s reputation as a lively and active part of the city.”

Kristian Crews of Spoke & Stringer said: “The location and architectural style of these units embody the ‘ride culture’ of our new brand. There is always something going on in Bristol’s Harbourside and we look forward to adding to the area’s lively atmosphere.”

The remaining three retail units in The Boat House are still available through Alder King. Two units provide 498 sq ft of retail space each, while the smallest unit provides 421 sq ft.
