I thought they sold all of the units in that fx development for more than they where expecting in which case they should have been able to move onto this site next. It doesn't make a lot of sense but it's a joke they levelled the site and then pulled the plug. BCC should take note next time they apply for permission.
On the market for offers in the region of £2 million.

A buyer may already have expressed interest but depending on circumstances it may have to advertised publicly before an offer accepted.

Property developers are a canny yet mysterious bunch ;)

Planning permission was granted in November 2013, so would have expired in November 2018 had they not demolished the existing buildings? Which they started doing in September last year. Now selling the site with full planning permission for another 5 years.

Also on sale for twice what they paid I believe
At least they did actually complete the FX development so they have built more in Belfast that I ever will.

But there are developers out there who literally do nothing but flatten prime sites for redevelopment, milk them for years as a car park while applying for permission then when they get it flip the site for maximum price they could possible extract out of it, the developer that does want to building something goes bust because they bought at the top of the property bubble and the site sits undeveloped for another 10 years.

So good to see our council invest in leisure facilities rather than let the private sector deliver them. Infact BCc have invested a total of £45 million in upgrading leisure facilities in East Belfast alone and over £100 million across the city. I can't wait to get back swimming here. I believe they plan to upgrade the Templemore Baths and Avoniel next...
